WBJEE – 2017: West Bengal.
It is the Common Entrance Examination for admission to different degree level courses in Medical, Dental, Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities Government Colleges as well as Self Financing Technological Institutes in West Bengal.

Application Form Available:
On-line application for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE)–2017 for admission into  undergraduate courses of Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture in various institutions of West Bengal for the academic year 2017 will be available on and from 05/01/2017 (Thursday). Last date of application (including payment of fees & downloading of confirmation  page) is 04/02/2017.The examinations will be conducted on 23.04.2017 (Sunday). Application fees (Rs. 500/-+ service charges) can be paid through net-banking / debit card / credit card or by cash through e-challan  in any branch of Allahabad Bank. WBJEE 2017 Important Note:

  • The application form will be available only through online mode.
  • Registration will be started from 5th January 2017.
  • Students not having domicile of West Bengal can also Apply.
  • You can pay the fee through online (Debit Card/Credit Card) & offline (Allahabad Bank Challan). No need to send any hard copy by post. Keep the printout of the confirmation page for future use.
  • Following Documents required to upload Scanned copy of Photograph, Signature & Left hand thumb impression, Birth Certificate (Admit Card/Registration certificate / Mark Sheet of 10th Standard),
  • Domicile Certificate, Category Certificate & Income certificate. (Complete information provided above).

Eligibility criteria for candidates:
If after examination or admission, or during any stage there of it is found on scrutiny that an applicant is under age or otherwise ineligible, his/her application for admission will be cancelled outright even if he/she appeared in WBJEEM-2016 and secured a position in the Merit List. Permission to appear in WBJEEM-2017 or securing a rank in the Merit List on the basis of the performance in the said examination does not constitute a right/guarantee in favour of the candidate for his/her admission to any Engg/Tech, Pharmacy, Architecture, Medical or Dental course unless he/she  fulfills all applicable criteria as described below.

Academic eligibility criteria:
For Engineering/Technology courses other than Marine Engineering:
In Calcutta University (Other than Dept. of Jute & Fibre Technology):
Candidates must pass Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education
or  equivalent examination from  a recognized Council/Board in regular class mode with:
a)Individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and
b)Minimum of 60% marks in the above subjects taken together (55% for SC/ST/  PwD/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) as well  as pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.

Dept.of Jute & Fibre Technology, Calcutta University Candidates must pass Higher  Secondary (10+2) Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Educationor equivalent examination from a recognized  Council/Board in regular class mode with:
a)Individual pass marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology as compulsory subjects
b) Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together(40% for SC/ST/PwD/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) as well as  pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks(for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.
In Jadavpur University: Candidates must pass Higher Secondary(10+2) Examination in General Stream in regular class mode of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized  Council/Board with:
a) Individual pass mark in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
b) Minimum of 60% marks in above subjects taken together(45% for SC/ ST/PwD candidates) having60% marks in  Mathematics (45% forSC/ST/PwD candidates) as well as pass in English with a minimum of 30% (for allcategories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.
Note: Pass marks in any subject shall imply pass marks in theory and practical individually, as applicable, as specified by the concerned Council/Board.
In other Institutes: Candidates must pass Higher Secondary(10+2) Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher  Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/Board in regular class mode with:
a) Individual pass marks in Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and
b) Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together (40%  for SC/ST/ PwD/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) as well as pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.

Age Restriction:
Engineering / Technology (other than Marine Engineering), Pharmacy and Architecture Courses:
Candidates must be at least 17 (seventeen) years of age as on 31.12.2017. There is no upper age limit.
Marine Engineering course: Candidates must be at least 17 (seventeen) years of age as on 31.12.2017 and must not be above 25 (twenty five) years of age as on 31.07.2017.

Medical/Dental Courses: Candidates must be at least 17 (seventeen) years of age as on 31.12.2017. There is no upper age limit.

WBJEE 2017 Exam Pattern:

  • All Questions based on Class XI and XII standard.
  • Question paper will be objective type.
  • Examination will have two papers: Paper I and Paper II.
  • Paper I– Questions will be asked from Mathematics.
  • Paper II– Questions will be asked from Physics and Chemistry.
  • In both the paper questions will be divided into three categories: Category 1, Category 2 and Category 3.

Application fee:

  • WBJEE 2017 Application fee can be paid through offline and online methods.
  • Applicants can pay WBJEE application fee via Credit/Debit Card or through the challan of Allahabad Bank.
  • Type-E: Rs 500 + Bank’s service Charge.
  • Type-C: Rs 600 + Bank’s service Charge.

WBJEE 2017 Admit Card:

WBJEE 2017 Admit card will be published in the official website very soon, most probably by 4th April 2017. The appearing candidates can download their admit cards to write the examination. The candidates have to carry their admit cards at the examination centres, without admit cards they will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. WBJEE 2017 Counselling:

The WBJEE counselling procedure starts once the examination results have been declared. The successful candidates who have scored minimum qualifying scores will be called to take part in the counselling process.
