NEET 2017 is a national level entrance examination which is being held to fill UG medical and dental seats in India. There will be admission to AIQ, state Government quota, state / management / NRI quota in private colleges and deemed universities, central pool quota seats on basis of CBSE NEET UG Result.

CBSE NEET UG Result 2017 will be used for admission to 95000 seats in MBBS and BDS courses.

CBSE activates result checking pages at cbseresults.nic.in for all the exams that it conducts such as AIPMT, JEE. This time also the NEET Result 2017 will be published at cbseresults.nic.in like every year.

Candidates can check the NEET UG 2017 Result by following these 3 simple steps below:

Step 1 – Click on the link to check result (which will be provided here when CBSE announces CBSE NEET Result 2017).

Step 2 – First type in roll number of NEET UG 2017. Then select date of birth from calendar. Click the ‘Submit’ button.

Step 3 – Check the displayed result.

The result of NEET 2017 will show marks, rank and also whether the candidate has obtained cut off marks or not. Only those who qualify will be eligible for counselling. Candidates will also be able to download rank card from the website and will need to present it at time of admission.

Calculation of marks

The score of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the marking scheme of the examination. Candidates will be allocated 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for marking incorrect response.

The merit of NEET UG 2017 will be determined on the basis of score secured by the qualified candidates. The Board will release the following lists:

The rank list contains the names of those qualified candidates who, according to their rank, will be called for seat allocation.

Merit List

For 15% All India Quota: This list will have rank position of those who have opted for 15% AIQ and are eligible for it, and also have obtained cut off marks for being in the merit list. The number of candidates in this will be equal to the number of MBBS and BDS seats available in this quota. Apart from this there will be a wait list with 4 times the number of merit list if required by DGHS. CBSE will forward list of successful candidates (merit and wait list) to Directorate General of Health Services for the purpose of counselling for these seats.

For seats other than 15% All India Quota: Candidates who have appeared in NEET 2017 and obtained cut off marks will get a position in merit list. They will have NEET UG All India Rank awarded by CBSE. Result of NEET Exam indicating merit list will reach DGHS which will in turn reach Admitting Authorities. Applications will be invited by Admitting Authorities for state / college counselling for which they will make merit list on All India Rank subject to their applicable rules.

Cut Off

Candidates who get marks in NEET UG Exam equal to or more than qualifying cut off, will be declared as qualified NEET. There are two types of cut offs for NEET exam – overall cut off, 15% AIQ cut off. NEET 2017 cut off (qualifying marks overall) is as below.

What is All India Rank (AIR)?

All India Rank (AIR) is over all NEET All India Rank, as given by CBSE, is based on rank among the successful candidates, of NEET UG on all India basis.

What is All India Quota Rank?

This is the rank for the purpose of All India seat allotment, after excluding candidates from Andhra Pradesh (AP) and J&K. As per directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court the candidates from AP and J&K are not eligible to participate for 15 % All India Quota Counseling.

Whether the candidates having All India Rank (AIR) / All India Quota Rank more than the cutoff rank called for All India Quota Counseling, are eligible for counselling anywhere?

Candidates declared Qualified/Eligible for All India Quota Undergraduate Seats (MBBS/BDS) only will be eligible for online allotment process for All India Quota Seats, which is conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, & Government of India. For State Quota /AFMC Seats, Private medical and dental college seats the candidates are required to contact the appropriate State Government/Admission Authority & Directorate of Medical Education. Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will not be able to guide candidates in this matter.

A percentile rank is the percentage of score that fall below a given score in a group.

How will the merit list be prepared by the States?

States will prepare their own merit list based on Rank keeping in view the category of candidates.

How will the merit list be prepared for 15% All India Quota seats?

Based on Rank and the reservation roster provided by DGHS, merit list for All India quota will be prepared.

What do you mean by All-India quota seats?

15% seats surrendered by Government Medical/Dental Colleges run as per the approval of MCI/DCI filled through the counseling conducted by DGHS is known as All India Quota seats.

What is the validity of NEET 2017 Result?

The result of successful candidates of NEET-UG, 2017 is valid for the academic session 2017-18 only.

Who will conduct Counselling after NEET-UG, 2017?

For 15% All India Quota seats, counseling will be conducted by the DGHS. For seats under the control of States/Universities/Institutions, their respective authorities will conduct the counseling.

MCC / DGHS will conduct NEET UG 2017 Counselling for successful candidates under 15% AIQ using the NEET UG 2017 Rank. There will be separate counselling by states / universities / colleges for the rest of the seats.
