Adesh University Medical Entrance Test (AUMET) has been conducted by the Adesh University for admission Under graduate Medical Courses MBBS and BDS every year. AUMET 2016 : Adesh University

Candidates who wants to admission in MBBS and BDS courses have to fill online application form from the official website adeshuniversity.ac.in. Admissions will strictly be on the basis of Merit list prepared as per the marks obtained in AUMET-2016 / qualifying examination as applicable. Application fee will be refundable in full, in case the entrance examination AUMET 2016 is cancelled / withheld due to any reason including final orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India regarding universal applicability of NEET from the session 2016-17. Note:- Candidates who had applied in the “Christians with Service Commitment” Category need to verify the status regarding their application for service commitment in respective courses (as recommended by the Member body of CMC Ludhiana Society) with the office of the Registrar.

For MBBS

No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the medical curriculum of first year of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course until:

  • He /she shall complete the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December 2016.
  • He/ She has passed qualifying examination as under:
    • The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education; OR
    • The intermediate examination in science of an Indian University / Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject. OR
    • The pre-professional / pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, after passing either the Higher Secondary school examination, or the preuniversity or an equivalent examination. The pre-professional /pre-medical examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also English as a compulsory subject; OR
    • The first year of the three years degree course of a recognized University, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in these subjects provided the examination is a “University Examination” and candidate has passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course. OR
    • B. Sc. examination of an Indian University, provided that he/she has passed the B. Sc. examination with not less than two of the following subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) /Biotechnology and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. OR
    • Any other examination which, in scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects and English.

Particulars For BDS Course

  • The duration of the course for the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) shall be four years.
  • A person who has attained the age of 17 years or more on December 31 of the year of admission .
  • He/she has passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination and the qualifying examination as a candidate from a recognized institution/university. The 10+2 or equivalent examination will be as per details given below and possesses one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the first year class of the course:
    • The higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education. OR
    • The intermediate examination in science of an Indian University / Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject. OR

The paraprofessional /pre-medical examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also English as a compulsory subject; OR
    • The first year of the three years degree course of a recognized University, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in three subjects provided the examination is a “University Examination” and candidate has passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course. OR
    • B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University, provided that he/she has passed the B. Sc. examination with not less than two of the following subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. OR
    • Any other examination which, in scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects and English.

Seats Intake

Seats in Medical Course – Total Number of seats for MBBS Course are 150. Distribution of seats is as under:

  • For Indian Students – 127*
  • For NRI/Foreign Students – 23

* Includes reservation:

  • 25% for Scheduled Castes (SC)
  • 5% for Backward Classes (BC)
  • 3% for Orthopedically Handicapped

Seats in BDS Course – Total Number of seats for BDS Course are 100. Distribution of seats is as under:

  • For Indian Students – 85*
  • For NRI/Foreign Students – 15

Exam Pattern

The Test shall have one paper consisting of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). The duration of test will be of three hours from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. There will be 200 Multiple Choice Questions Each question will carry four marks, thus total marks will be 800. The questions will be in English. The candidate will be required mark the correct answer on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Response Sheet by darkening the corresponding oval against the serial number of the question with Black fine tip ball Pen only.

There will be negative marking for wrong answers. Candidate must write Question Booklet Number carefully on the OMR Response sheet and the OMR Response sheet number on the question booklet and Both the OMR Response sheet number & the Question Booklet Number on the attendance sheet and on the roll number counter slip sheet.

Selection Procedure

For MBBS

Admission to the MBBS Course shall be on the basis of a competitive entrance test conducted by Adesh University (AUMET-2016).

Procedure for selection to MBBS Course shall be as follows:

  • A candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 50% of marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as the qualifying examination and in addition must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of such competitive entrance test (AUMET-2016) by securing not less than 50% marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together.
  • Provided further in respect of candidates belonging to scheduled casts or the Backward class the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance test (AUMET-2016) be 40% instead of 50% as stated above.
  • Provided that the eligibility criteria for admission to persons with locomotors disability of lower limbs – will be a minimum of 45% marks instead of 50% taken together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance test (AUMET-2016) for admission in MBBS courses.
  • Provided that a candidate who has appeared in the qualifying examination the result of which has not been declared, he may be provisionally permitted to take up the competitive entrance test (AUMET-2016) and in case of selection for admission to the MBBS course he shall not be admitted to that course until he fulfills the eligibility criteria.

For BDS

  • The admission to the BDS Course will be on the basis of a competitive entrance test (AUMET-2016). A candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination and in addition must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of such competitive entrance test by securing not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the competitive examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Casts, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination and competitive examination be 40% instead of 50%.
  • In case some seats are left vacant then the admission to the BDS course will be on the basis of qualifying examination, based on merit. The candidate for admission to BDS course must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 50% of marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Casts, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together should not be less than 40% instead of 50% and must have passing marks in English.
  • Provided that a candidate who has appeared in the qualifying examination the result of which has not been declared, he may be provisionally permitted to take up the competitive entrance test and in case of selection for admission to the BDS course he shall not be admitted to that course until he fulfills the eligibility criteria.

AUMET 2016 Counselling

Qualified candidates on the basis of Entrance Test (AUMET-2016) will have to pay counselling fee of Rs 4000/- (Rs 3000/- for SC) on the day of counselling. Date will be notified on University Website www.adeshuniversity.ac.in.

Counselling will be held at Campus of Adesh University, Bathinda from 9.00 A.M. onwards as per schedule given below:

Candidates are required to bring four Color Passport Size photographs on the day of counselling (Photograph should be same as on the online application form AUMET-2016) along with the following documents in ORIGINAL and one set of Xerox copies as per detail given below:

  • Matric or equivalent certificate for date of birth
  • Certificate from the Head of the institute where from passed 10+1 and 10+2.
  • Detailed Marks Card of 10+1
  • Qualifying Examination Detailed Marks Card (of 10+2 or equivalent)
  • Character Certificate from Institution last attended
  • Proof of Residence
  • Category Certificate (as applicable)
  • AUMET-2016 Result Card Printed copy
  • AUMET-2016 Admit Card Printed copy
  • Gap year undertaking by the candidate after affixing self attestation and recent colored photographs (If there is a gap after passing 10+2 examination)

All qualified candidates are required to appear for Counselling in-person, along with all original documents as mentioned above, without waiting for any call Letters/Advertisement. No separate call letters shall be sent. If a candidate fails to report for counselling in-person he/she will forfeit his/her seat.

Admissions will strictly be on the basis of Merit list prepared as per the marks obtained in AUMET-2016/qualifying examination as applicable.

Admissions will be made through counselling to be held by Adesh University on the basis of inter-se merit of AUMET-2016/qualifying examination as applicable.

Firstly the seats will be offered to the candidates who have passed 10+2 from the state of Punjab. Seats remaining vacant, if any, will be offered to AUMET-2016 qualified candidates who have passed their 10+2 examination from other states. Any seat(s) remaining vacant in the reserved category will be converted to General Category seat(s) during counselling.
